TenantInsurance.co.nz publishes general information about how insurance cover and New Zealand tenancy law work. It is not financial advice, it is not legal advice, and it does not take account of your particular circumstances, needs or objectives.

Advice about what you personally should buy comes from the registered financial adviser or insurance broker we introduce you to — not from this website. They hold the registration and they give the advice.

We are not an insurer

We do not underwrite insurance, we cannot bind cover, and we cannot accept or pay a claim. We are an information site and an introduction service.

Insurers named on this site

Insurers are named because people search for them. We do not place business with the insurers listed on our direct insurers page, we hold no agency with them, and we receive no payment from them. Naming an insurer is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or a statement that their product is suitable for you.

Accuracy

We source everything and date it, and we publish what we could not verify rather than guessing — see our sourcing standard. Even so, insurers change their products and the law changes. Figures we attribute to an insurer are that insurer's own published summary as at the retrieval date shown; the current policy wording governs, and you should read it. If you spot an error, tell us.

How we are paid

We receive a referral fee from the broker if you take out a policy through them. It costs you nothing and does not affect your premium. We are not paid by insurers.

We link to insurers' own sites and to government sources so you can check what we have written. We are not responsible for the content of external sites.

Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law.
